A resolution to denounce the comments recently made by University President, Thomas Leblanc, and call upon the University to amend its code of conduct for students, administrators, faculty, and staff by including bias-related incidents.

A resolution to strongly condemn The George Washington University Police Department’s (GWPD) excessive use of force and intimidation tactics against students and members of the DC community, especially those who do not have sufficient housing or who may be transient, as well as urge the Division of Safety and Security to clearly outline and promulgate the current university guidelines concerning student protests and calls upon GWPD officers to treat all people with respect and care.

Black Caucus Endorsed

A resolution to encourage the Student Accounts Office to exempt student accounts with outstanding balances of $1,000.00 or less from the one-time late-payment fee and the monthly interest charge. This resolution also calls out the financial aid office for not implementing financial aid advisory council.

A bill to require that the Finance Committee fund 100% of Communication Access Real-time Translation (CART) services and American Sign Language (ASL) interpreters when requested by student organizations during general allocations.

A resolution to call upon The George Washington University to fully fund budget requests for its library system and reverse staff downsizing.

A resolution to codify EO-S20-03, The Save the Hippo Executive Order, and publicly recognize the Water Horse statue on this campus as an instrumental symbol for inclusion and institutional change.

A resolution to support the letter authored by the GW Sunrise Movement that calls upon the university to publicly close or cut ties with the Regulatory Studies Center or publicly disclose its funding, motivations, and anti-regulation agenda and immediately divest the university endowment from the fossil fuel industry.

A resolution to condemn all physical and verbal acts of anti-Semitism on the campus of The George Washington University.

A resolution to create a Black Senators’ Caucus (BSC) within the Student Association to commit to using full Constitutional power, statutory authority, and financial resources from the Student Association to ensure the success of black-identifying students and maintain proactiveness in addressing inequality on campus.

A resolution to prioritize student safety in the case of an active shooter on campus through the installation of ADA-compliant locks or latches, capable of locking doors from the inside, on all classroom doors.
